Spring 2017 Newsletter

Wow. Just “wow”. That has been the reaction coming from both the Real Estate industry and the general population when anyone thinks about what is going on inside and outside of the Toronto real estate market. Is there a problem? Who is to blame? Who can fix it? Does it need fixing? Do we have all the data we need? Should we just hope that government intervention helps? What do these changes mean? When do they start? Do they fix the problem or create others? All of us have been asking any or all of these questions, without any clear answers. At least there are Cherry Blossoms blooming in High Park, and Food Truck Fridays starting in Etobicoke as signs of Spring in the City.

As for all of the other questions raised above, we’ll try our best to guide you through them. What we can tell you one week into the newly announced government policy and program changes is that this week people bought and sold homes. Well priced, well-marketed homes sold for above asking, and overpriced, badly marketed ones did not. Just like every other week.

In this edition of Smartmoves, we’ll break down the most important of the new plans meant to cool down the Toronto market, and what they mean in the practical application of them. We’ll also introduce you to the newest member of our Preferred Professionals’ list, as well as an invitation to an exciting seminar being held by Geoff Hartley of RBC Wealth Management. We are also proud to announce our Red Day project for 2017: Ernestine’s Women’s Shelter in Etobicoke. Our gang and the staff and crew of our entire Keller Williams Neighborhood Realty office will be spending the day helping rejuvenate the building and grounds of this amazing organization.
