Thanksgiving is a wrap. Leaves have turned and started falling. Nuit Blanche has come and gone. Hallowe’en displays have given way to Christmas decorations on retailers’ floors. It is Fall in Toronto. This Fall has brought a lot of rain, some chilly dark mornings, and a strong real estate season. Sales and prices are up over this time last year. Mortgage rates have fallen. Rental vacancy rates are really low, making rents push upwards and fueling a run on condos for both new buyers and investors. And there doesn’t seem to be much of a sign of a seasonal cool down as we head for what most meteorologists are predicting will be a wet (read “really snowy”) winter. Now that the Federal Election has passed, there is some good news for First-Time Buyers, renters and for those worried about the influence of out of country investors in local markets.
In this edition of Smartmoves, we’ll cover those announcements, Federally and Municipally. We’ll also look at TREB numbers for the beginning of the Fall season. We’ll also give you the early details of our annual KB Team Family Skate (here’s a hint…you won’t miss it if you have vacation plans for Family Day this year!).
